Respect... Respect...

Hi folks

Taking a cue from one of the catchphrases of the one and only "Ali G" , I'd like to recall a very curious incident that happened to me last week. And believe it or not, it happened in a movie theatre!

Me and a pal of mine were going to see the movie "Mere Baap Pehle Aap" (which addressed a rather interesting topic) here in Lucknow. As we were scouting around to see where our seats were, we suddenly heard the National Anthem being played on the screen. My friend told me it is common in the theatres in Bombay, but it was a first-time experience for me. I immediately stopped on my tracks and stood in attention (as one would normally do when the National Anthem is played).

But what I saw was even more amazing. everyone had stopped on his/her tracks andstood in attention. It was so nice to see that people had responded so fast to this. Usually people take a lot of time before becoming attentive, but this was fast, really fast. And I can say that I was really proud that day! It was heartening that people, who had come to relax and enjoy had the presence of mind to pay respects to the National Anthem.

I think this is a good practice and needs to be done on a regular basis so as to keep reminding people that there are jawans out there, who are risking their lives for our safety from the enemies across the border.

BTW, there are some good blogs that I would like to recommend to you fellas just in case you are free enough to read them...

1) http://randomremarkz.blogspot.com/ : Sughandha Srivastava is the owner of this blog. She writes fairly well and the topics are interesting too. Worth a look!

2) http://emailmkarthik.blogspot.com/ : Atlast my junior makes a foray into the world of blogging! Karthik, (or MK, as he is more fondly known), writes well (so far),and writes on stuff that is indeed refreshing to see in blogs.

3) http://tavishviews.blogspot.com/ : How can I forget my good friend Tavish and his wonderful spirit! Taking time from his "CAT"ching up, he still blogs stuff relevant to all of us. His experiences have certainly added another dimension to his personality.

Cheers for now!!!

BTW, I tried drowning a shot of vodka the other day and realized that I have lost the aptitude for drinking. So good news for all of you fellas who wanted me to stop drinking...

Ciao!
