Hi friends
Just a small break from my posts on Management stuff (It takes time to conjure up a article). This is a continuation of my "Republic Day" post written 8 months ago - Click here for the link. A lot has changed in the past few months - We have seen our own government resort to unethical practices. The opposition increased the shame by waving wads of cash in the parliament house in session. To add to that, our own PM, who was regarded as the seat of ethics by many well-educated people, called this a triumph of democracy. All this happened while the world watched us in disbelief.

This is not the age where it was just the British who were concerned whether we are to be given independence or not. This is the information age where information spreads far and wide at the speed of light. We, the world's largest democracy by population, are under contunuous scrutiny by the world. Smaller democracies look upto us for inspiration and the larger ones are vary of our growing influence. We have to face the fact that we are noticed by the world - more than the way we want to be noticed.
I just hope that we realize this before it's too late...
Varun.
