18 Straight Questions... 18 Honest Answers....

Hi

This post is heavily inspired from an old blog-post by a good teacher of mine. He says he has plagiarized somebody else's idea and since that somebody has said that anybody else can plagiarise his idea, I am plagiarising this idea (A start similar to that of a lie or a food chain!!! Thank you Sir!!!)

Well, it’s basically a set of questions that I am supposed to honestly answer. Keeping in mind my honesty, here it goes:

1. Pick out a scar you have, and explain how you got it?
Honestly, I have to think this one over a lot as I don’t recall having any physical scars on my body; lots of moles but no scars. However, I do have a mental scar. It was caused by the death of my great-grandmother. It made me immune to pain and suffering and till now, I can face any dead body without any fear or emotion. But a person in his last moments is still hard for me to bear. One such incident of seeing an old aunt die recently has left a deep impact (read: scar) on my mind.

2. What does your phone look like?
I have two phones – One in the USA and the other for India. Surprisingly both are made by Samsung and are flip-phones. The Indian make is Samsung X200 and looks a bit used-up (it is second-handed). The American one is a Samsung one which is a SPH-m300 black phone, but it also has a 800*640 camera in it... So it's pretty jazzy!!!

3. What is on the walls of your bedroom?
In Lucknow, my wall is covered with a newspaper clipping which has the picture of Meg Ryan. This is perhaps 6 years old and I carry it with me wherever I go. I also have a few hooks on the wall for holding my clothes and a poster of Lance Armstrong winning his 7th Tour De France (Another poster that I carry with me all along).

4. What is your current desktop picture?
Since I am in my uncle’s house, I have a picture of Amitabh Bachahan posing in the movie “Sarkar” It’s an awesome desktop picture if you ask me. Usually I have a picture of one of the gorgeous heroines, mainly Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie and Ileana on my desktop. But I hate cleavage shows and prefer beauties to adorn my desktop.

5. Do you believe in gay marriage?
Well, I personally have no grudges against any gay-related issues as they are also a part of the society as we all are. I accept gay marriages, but they should not be hue-and-cry made of such cases as they are also human beings.

6. What do you want more than anything right now?
Well, I want two things. The first is meet Sarah Silverman right away. She is an amazing woman and a great comedian. Her comedy is honest and too good! (Plus she is 37 and unmarried). I think I can gel with her attitude easily. Second, I want to meet Salma Hayek in person and discuss at length with her about gender equality. Only she can convince me that actresses also have analytical and powerful brains!

7. What time were you born?
My mom told me that I was born at around 2.30 pm. Well, atleast I decided to see the light before becoming the son of a devil as I am now!!

8. Are your parents still together?
They are and I am pretty sure they will be together till death does them apart.

9. Last person who made you cry?
Well, it’s a fictional person. I almost cried at the ending of the movie “Becoming Jane” because it was so touching. That actress, Anne Hathaway, has the potential to get my emotions out more than anyone else.

10. What is your favorite perfume/cologne?
Well, I have no particular liking for any of them, but Old Spice is perhaps what I commonly use.

11. What kind of hair/eye color do you like in the opposite sex?
Well, that’s an easy one to answer. Black hair looks better on a woman than any other freakish color. However, even the color of blonde hair suits some women, but that’s just an exception to my taste. Eyes I prefer the blue ones - always very sensuous. They have a charm that I can't describe.

12. What are you listening to right now?
I am currently listening to “Dreams” by the band “Fleetwood Mac”. This song has the most beautiful lyrics in any song I have heard. I also like the pop version of the same song, sung by “The Corrs” band.

13. Do you get scared of the dark?
Well, I am scared of the noises made in the dark. I can sit in a dark place for hours without being scared, but I hate walking in the dark for fear of tripping more than the fear of darkness.

14. Do you like pain killers?
When I need them (a rare case) I like them.

15. Are you too shy to ask someone out?
Well, that shyness has beat me several times in the past and I have succumbed to it. I only stare and admire beauties rather than have the courage to talk to them personally. However, I prefer chatting with women in forums and love to meet more people so as to broaden by chances, if any.

16. If you could eat anything right now, what would it be?
Butter Chicken made by my mom. I sorely miss her food right now!

17. Who was the last person you made mad?
Well, I recall my dad being mad at me in March for not getting my clothes stitched for my US trip. It was too much to hear on a phone. I guess dads and moms don’t change at all. I generally make many people mad at me with my laziness and carefree attitude (the very same attitudes that have made me good friends of many others).

18. Is anyone in love with you?
Tough to think about a woman’s love in this crazy world where the freedom of choice has created a paradox of its own (Will discuss about this some other day). But my parents, my uncle’s family, my grandma and a few of my relatives love me very much and I am really proud to deserve their unending love and blessings.

Well, this is how I have answered the questions. I didn't give a second thought to them while writing as I wanted to be spontaneous. Till the next post, chow!

It's lovely Varun....Really nice. If Meg Ryan is one of your picks to be liked, you should watch the movie I.Q. The only possible instance of disappointment there is that it is the hero of that movie that has 'blue eyes.' And YES, the Mexicam beauty Salma Hayek does certainly deserve more recognition than what she has got.

DO NOT MISS THE MOVIE I.Q., more so, if you are as ardent lover of Physics as I have been.

@Adi Sir: Yes, I have seen I.Q. and it's a really sweet movie :) Meg is as good as she has ever been. Missing her bubbly roles though. Salma Hayek and her life experiences are truly great in my view - do have a look at her life story if you a chance Sir.

@Miraj: I hope you answered them on your blog :)
