Some cheers for myself...

Hi

Finally, today I feel really happy in my heart for I heard something that will go down in my "mind resume" about this campaign, McCain/Palin 2008.

This is a small extract from a chat I had with a friend of mine from school - Chandu Venu (click name for link to his blog). A few words about him (He'll be reading about it anyways, so I better write all the nice stuff!). At school, we were friends, but lately, he has been the best friend by far I have had on gtalk. When we chatted, I realized that we share a lot of common stuff and believe me when I say this - he is perhaps one of the only few people who have imparted me with some wisdom and knowledge. Our passion for E.T. and Aliens and Conspiracy theories and Ancient Mysteries etc. have enriched my knowledge on stuff that I never even knew existed!

Our chats are never boring, especially when they involve anything out-of-the-ordinary (Usually they do!). We have shared so much data online on stuff that perhaps people talk about over coffee after retirement. People may call what we talk about as "time wasting" and sometimes even "paranoid", but geeks like me have just one reply to them - "Knowledge is Power".

So here goes a small extract from one of our recent chats (reproduced with permission of all involved parties).

Chandu
: You there, listen - today I attended WWE, was awesome...

Me: Cool

Chandu: In between they showed McCain and Obama at different intervals of time in which they tell the crowd that they watch WWE...

Me: I see… then they don’t get my vote for sure (as I am not much of a WWE fan)

Chandu: Dude, trust me, if America is represented by the feelings of people in that show, McCain is not going to be a President - Obama will have a cake walk. I mean the boos that McCain got and the cheers Obama got was massive!! Even a layman can tell who the crowd favorite is…

Me: Obama is not having a cakewalk... He is being given a cakewalk... And yet 45% of America prefers McCain...

Chandu: And trust me, half the crowd in that match was not from Nevada

Me: Hmmm

Chandu: How is Obama being given a cakewalk?

Me: Media push plus economic depression…

Chandu: Hmmm...

Me: If it wasn’t for Bush, Obama would not have a chance...

Chandu: I guess so…

Me: Hmmm… So not sleeping?

Chandu: Should sleep… I just completed uploading the pics from the show in Orkut…

Me: Nice...

Chandu: Massive crowd dude... It was amazing the way they cheer and boo together… They act as a wave...

Me: Oh… Anyways, I don’t know why people hate McCain so much... If racism exists against Obama, the same applies to McCain too…

Chandu: Yea, I felt the same... Infact, I felt so during the debate which I saw for the first time… live on TV...

Me: Oh... Which one? The first one or the second one?

Chandu: The second one… I observed one thing... McCain is pretty clear in what his goals are and how to deal with issues. I mean he has ideas of his own... Meanwhile Obama is just banking on ideas which the public favour - He didn’t have even one proper idea of his own to deal with issues… If 8 on 10 people tell him that “this idea is good”, he goes with it…

Me: Hmmm.. Finally someone sees through what I have been shouting all along....

Chandu: Sorry for the delay... But I had to see it myself to make myself clear…

Me: I told people - Obama is just globing around and has no clear plan at all... He speaks like typical Ivy League graduate... It’s ok man... Finally I feel that my shouting and all were worth something…

Chandu: And secondly, I was running at a pace of 7.2 on a treadmill for a total distance of 3 miles...So I had to concentrate on something... and I had this debate going on my personal screen...

After so many months of blogging about the US elections, I felt happy for the first time that there was someone who got the nail hit on the head at the same point as myself. It was not because of my blogging, nor my position. But it was what he felt when he listened to the debate (as impartial as he can, as he had no particular affiliation for either side as far as I am aware of) with concentration (and not with a particular interest in Obama or McCain).

For once, I feel happy that someone understood my point.

Next post will be on my "parallel universe" idea, the one which helped me win that small prize...

Ciao till then.
